Do you struggle with anyone telling you what to do? For many of us it may depend on who it is. I think for all of us though, to some level, we natural push back on anyone or anything that inhibits us doing what we want. King Nebuchadnezzar found that out the hard way as he met God at the intersection of his own pride and the power of the ‘God of kings’ only to be humbled. As we move into chapter 4 of Daniel we are confronted with our own pride and whether we will humble ourselves before God and be able to praise him as Nebuchadnezzar does, “It has seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has done for me. 3 How great are his signs, how mighty his wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion endures from generation to generation." (V 2-3)
